What’s In Oven Baked Steak Fries Recipe?

Other Essential Equipment

  • Parchment Paper – I line my sheet pans with parchment paper, and I found the potatoes get nice and crispy on the paper, and won’t stick to the sheet pan.  I go through about one of these large rolls a year, they are great for baking, roasting, and keeping foods from sticking to each other.  Do NOT use wax paper, the wax will melt off on the potatoes.
  • Large Sheet Pan – I invested in a large half sheet pan, that I love using for roasting and baking all my one pan dinners.
  • Large “Fish Turner” Spatula – I actually like using a fish turner spatula for these fries as it has a huge surface area, and is much larger than my other spatula. That way, when I flip the potatoes half way during roasting, I can flip a good amount of them in a single scoop of the spatula.

Healthy One Pan Potato Recipes For the Win!

These low sodium fries in the oven are the perfect sheet pan dinner!  I love a good sheet pan meal, especially during these fall months when the weather starts to turn cooler. Cooking on a sheet pan is one of my favorite ways to get a meal on the table fast!  All the food gets cooked on a single pan, which makes cleaning up a breeze. And the oven does all the work for you, so you can focus on other kitchen prep while the food cooks. How Do I Make Fries without Salt?

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper, and add 1 tablespoon of the sunflower oil on top of the parchment paper, spreading it out in an even layer on top of the paper.
  • In a large bowl, toss the potato wedges with the remaining 1 tablespoon sunflower oil, corn starch, Salt-Free Steak Spice, and garlic powder. Toss well to combine, making sure each side of the potato wedges are coated in the corn starch mixture.
  • Add the potato wedges to the sheet pan, in a single layer on the pan. Don’t overlap or double up on the rows, it will prevent the potatoes from sticking together.
  • Place sheet pan in the oven, and roast the potatoes for 20 minutes. Flip them with a spatula (I actually use a fish turner spatula for this, as it has a larger surface area) and roast the potatoes on the other side for 20 more minutes.
  • Once the potatoes have finished cooking, carefully remove the pan from the oven. Serve with your favorite low-so dipping sauces and enjoy!
