An easy, simple, and flavorful salad dressing that has low sodium ingredients and no added salt. I love serving up a big Caesar salad with my low sodium croutons, which is perfect for a family dinner, a holiday potluck, or for a cookout with guests.
Never make a boring salad again with this low sodium Caesar dressing! Toss it with romaine lettuce, spinach, or any variety of mixed greens and add in salt-free croutons or your favorite salad toppings.
While most Caesar dressing recipes call for anchovy paste for that classic flavor, I swapped it out in my version. Most anchovy pastes contain over 1000mg of sodium per one tablespoon sized serving (yikes)! Instead, I used a low sodium Worcestershire sauce, which still contains a little anchovy flavor with a fraction of the sodium content.

I love this low sodium Caesar salad dressing recipe, which is a bright & fresh addition to the table. We love serving this salad with dinner, any time of the year. I find it’s especially great for entertaining, because let’s be real, who doesn’t love a good Caesar salad?

Ingredients You’ll Need

Again, I omitted the traditional anchovy paste because of it’s high sodium content.
- Greek Yogurt – make sure it’s plain and unsweetened! You can use a fat free Greek yogurt (it’s our favorite!) or a full fat yogurt too. Make sure you get Greek yogurt and not plain yogurt, the thickness really makes this dressing fantastic!
- Low Sodium Mayonnaise: If you have 5 minutes, you can make this easy low sodium mayonnaise recipe in your blender or food processor!
- Garlic – fresh chopped garlic gives this dressing it’s amazing kick!
- Low Sodium Worcestershire Sauce: for that unbelievably tangy umami flavor that bring the classic taste to these burgers! I love using this low sodium Worcestershire sauce in all kinds of recipes, at only 45mg sodium per serving, a little goes a long way on flavor.
- Lemon Juice – highly recommend using fresh lemon juice if possible!
- Mustard Powder: I love adding mustard powder to this recipe instead of traditional mustard (which can contain extra sodium). The mustard powder adds a nice sharpness and tang to the dressing- and has 0mg sodium!
- Black pepper – fresh cracked pepper is our favorite!
- Optional Nutritional Yeast: not to be confused with baking yeast, nutritional yeast has a cheesy nutty umami flavor which is great in all kinds of dishes. It has only 30mg of sodium per serving. I even sprinkle it on popcorn for a nice cheesy flavor. Also great in soups and sauces of all kinds.
How To Make This Recipe
- In a medium mixing bowl, add the Greek yogurt, low sodium mayonnaise, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, mustard powder, and black pepper (plus nutritional yeast, if using).
- With a whisk, mix all ingredients together until smooth.
- Taste, and adjust seasonings, adding more lemon juice or pepper if desired. If the dressing is too thick, you can add 1 teaspoon of water at a time to thin it out as desired.
- Use immediately to toss a salad, or refrigerate and use within 2 days.

- ¾ cup plain Greek yogurt
- ¼ cup low sodium mayonnaise
- 2 small cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon low sodium Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice about 1 large lemon
- ½ teaspoon mustard powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Optional 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast

A fantastic Caesar salad recipe! I am very impressed with this,and it’s a great alternative for one of my favorite salads. This is also great for everything the dressing is good for, like using it as a dip!

Not a fan of the Greek Yogurt flavor. I tripled the Worcestershire Sauce to try and cover it. Next try, I will use 1/2 c greek yogurt and 1/2 c mayo. About reduced sodium Worcestershire Sauce. 45 milligrams per tsp is 2% DV. Regular Worcestershire Sauce is 65 mg per tsp – or 3% DV. For me, not enough of a savings in sodium level to justify paying the insanely HIGH price for the reduced sodium – if you can even find it for sale anywhere.
