Make Almond Milk in a Blender or Nut Milk Machine!
I’ve owned a lot of blenders, but my Vitamix blender is definitely the best. This high-speed blender will blend even the toughest of ingredients into pulp. I prefer using my blender for recipes like this, as it’s simple to clean the blender afterwards.
Great for making all kinds of low so sauces, smoothies, or recipes like this. This is definitely one kitchen appliance we use on a daily basis!
What’s In This Sodium Free Almond Milk Recipe?
See the recipe card below for a full list of instructions and ingredient amounts!
- Almonds: use raw and unsalted
- Nut Milk Bag – whether you use a blender or a nut milk machine, I’d recommend using a nut milk bag to strain out the almond pulp. I like these nylon bags, which I’ve found hold up better than the cotton ones.
For Flavored Almond Milk, Use…
- Vanilla Extract: it’s super important to use real pure vanilla extract, and not artificial baking vanilla flavor. This real all natural vanilla is a fantastic ingredient to give these cookies an #extra boost.
- Raw Honey
- Cocoa Powder
- Cinnamon: which gives this almond milk a subtle spice-y flavor! I love to add a pinch for a really nice depth to this drink.
How To Make This Recipe
- Add the almonds and water to a blender. Start the blender on a low setting and gradually work up to the highest speed. Blend for 3 minutes.
- Strain almond milk through a nut milk bag or very fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth.
- Enjoy warmed or iced!
To Make Vanilla Almond Milk
- Follow the above recipe, but also add 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract in step 1.
To Make Chocolate Almond Milk
- Follow the above recipe but add 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 tablespoon of cacao powder, and a pinch of cinnamon in step 1.
