These low sodium baking powder biscuits require only a few ingredients, and come together super quickly. These are a basic biscuit – but you can always jazz it up by adding a tablespoon of chives, garlic, rosemary, etc. They can be customized for any taste.

We were having roasted vegetables and I wanted to have something a little  more filling on the side. These biscuits were ready in 30 minutes, I made them while dinner was roasting in the oven.

Low Sodium Pantry Ideas

This simple low sodium biscuit recipe is a fantastic pantry-staple bread!  It uses almost all ingredients you would have in your dry pantry or cupboards. Keeping a low so pantry makes it easy to come up with delicious and healthy meals using a few staples you can rotate.

Ingredients

  • All Purpose Flour
  • Granulated Sugar
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Sodium Free Baking Powder: I like this low sodium baking powder which is great for keeping the sodium down in baked goods.
  • Milk –  I used unsweetened Almond Milk for my version of this recipe.

How To Make This Recipe

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, move rack to center. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, and baking powder to combine ingredients. Pour in the olive oil, lemon juice, and milk and gently fold the dough until it thickens.
  3. Place about 1.5 tablespoons of dough for each biscuit on the parchment paper – no need to form them, just drop them on the sheet pan.
  4. Put the biscuits in the oven and bake for 12-16 minutes, rotating the sheet pan halfway during cooking. Bake until the top of the biscuits are lightly browned.
  5. Once finished, remove biscuits from oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
