Ingredients

  • 2 4-ounce salmon steaks
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoons whole grain mustard
  • 1 tablespoon salt-free Steak Spice rub see note below
  • 1 Lemon Sliced, for serving

Instructions

  • Season the salmon: in a separate bowl, add your mustard, maple syrup, steak spice (or other spices) and mix with a spoon. We love a salt free steak spice, but also add garlic or onion powder too.
  • Once mixed, add half the steak spice to the top side of your salmon.
  • If grilling or using the oven, heat the salmon on a 400 degree oven or grill until the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit. This can very based on cooking method, however I found it usually takes 15-25 minutes.
  • Once the salmon is cooked, remove from heat. Squeeze fresh lemon over the top and serve.
